South Tyrol boasts a wide array of museums that encompass various themes, such as culture, history, science, technology and artisanal handicrafts. With more than 150 museums, collections and exhibitions of various sizes, visitors can explore an extensive selection ranging from public and private museums to municipal and village museums.

Furthermore, South Tyrol is home to ten regional museums across 16 different locations. They are run collectively under a large auxiliary body of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano/Bozen South Tyrol.

The Office for Museums and Museal Research oversees several aspects of museum promotion and development.
